President participates in a media briefing at Thirupathi
President Rajapakse has said that there is nothing wrong in the national leaders seeking the protection of their own security personnel while they are abroad.
The President made this statement in response to a question asked by the foreign media regarding the security of the heads of state, participating in the SAARC conference. The President attended a media briefing at Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh, before he left for Sri Lanka. The President said that he is taking his security personnel when visiting foreign countries. The heads of state that are due to visit Sri Lanka, to participate in the SAARC conference can have the protection of their own security personnel although the Sri Lankan Government will provide maximum security.
